Family & Kids.

Are you planning a weekend with your kids? The HOTELMARIA is located exactly in the middle between Vienna and Burgenland. How about a day in the Family Park in St. Margarethen and then a boat trip on Lake Neusiedl and the other day in the Schönbrunn Zoo or Haus des Meeres? They only take half an hour by car.

Follow in the footsteps of the Romans in the Roman town of Carnuntum and take a journey back in time to what was then the province of Pannonia. The Heidentor, the triumphal arch from the years 337-361 on the way there, is very impressive!

Just around the corner is the Laxenburg Palace Park, one of the most important historical landscape gardens in Europe and the favorite residence of Empress Maria Theresa. How about a ride on the Bummerl train to Franzensburg, or a boat trip across the pond, feeding the ducks or letting off steam in the large children's playground. Don't forget: be sure to take a cup of ice cream from the Laxenburg ice cream parlor!

If your kids are still full of energy, they can let off steam on our large hotel lawn and you can relax with a coffee on the terrace!

Römerstadt Carnuntum

Before Carnuntum became the administrative center of the Roman province of Pannonia, it was a Celtic settlement. Located on the Danube Limes, the legions secured the border of the Roman Empire in the 1st to 4th centuries AD. With 50,000 inhabitants, it resembled a cosmopolitan city with an important trading center because it was located on the Amber Road.

Carnuntum is one of the most important ancient archaeological sites in Austria.

The Roman district in particular with its villas, thermal baths, amphitheater and gladiator school reflect the ancient lifestyle.
